MOZ-ART III "Christmas Is Coming"

Wed 12.12.2018 at 19:00 Kotka Concert Hall
Thu 13.12.2018 at 19:00 Kuusankoski Hall

The bracing wintry Musical Sleigh Ride by Father Mozart sets the mood for our Moz-Art III concert in the run-up to Christmas, in a varied programme of works by not only Mozart and Haydn but also the much-loved Argentinean tango moderniser Astor Piazzolla. The soloist is Pacho Flores, trumpet, who has risen to world fame via the ranks of the Venezuela’s unique, world-famous El Sistema music education system. In addition to Haydn’s Trumpet Concerto he will play two works by Piazzolla, one of which – Oblivion – is among the most popular ever written by the Argentinean master. Mozart’s magnificent Prague Symphony represents the Classical era at its very richest, and the concert ends with Mozart Junior’s Sleigh Ride.
