La Resurrezione

The message of Easter finds human and moving expression in the Resurrection oratorio by Handel. It was one of the finest works he composed during his Italian period, and tonight is a rare opportunity to hear it. The Italian influence is reflected in the musical content, and its beauty is manifest in a more personal and intimate way than in his other great oratorio, Messiah. This version of the Resurrection story is especially interesting in that it presents some lesser-known characters, and it also has some cheerful, operatic touches. Here to perform it are some brilliant soloists hand-picked by our Artistic Partner Topi Lehtipuu.
