Our Artistic Partner Topi Lehtipuu joins forces with the Kymi Sinfonietta, four internationally-celebrated soloists, the Somnium Ensemble and four great composers. Bach composed his Cantata BWV 105 in 1723, for the ninth Sunday after Trinity. Beethoven’s masterly choral cantata Meeresstille und glückliche Fahrt is based on two poems by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. Crowning the concert is Mozart’s Requiem, a work that never fails to affect the listener and with which he was feverishly battling shortly before his death. Lehtipuu has chosen just the right soloists and the result certainly promises to be a feast of choral music.
