DESCRIPTION:The Kymi Sinfonietta’s ultra-popular series of movie concerts continues with the evergreen Chaplin classic The Gold Rush\, with a live accompaniment to the original silent movie of 1925. Chaplin composed the score in 1942\, and it has since been arranged for live performances of the 1925 version by Timothy Brock. Based on the plot of the Klondike Gold Rush in Alaska\, the film and the live music composed for it have been delighting viewers ever since. \nChaplin’s knack of combining comedy with drama simply never fails.
