Outi Tarkiainen’s The Seasons of Love is a paean to the power of love that changes with the different phases in life. Representing older music is the first violin concerto by Mozart\, with the magnificent Kotka-born Essi Höglund as the soloist. The delightful Symphony No. 1 by Louise Farrenc is enjoying a renaissance in orchestras’ repertoire\, and not without reason.
