Bach composed his Cantata BWV 105 in 1723\, for the ninth Sunday after Trinity. Beethoven’s masterly choral cantata Meeresstille und glückliche Fahrt is based on two poems by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. Crowning the concert is Mozart’s Requiem\, a work that never fails to affect the listener and with which he was feverishly battling shortly before his death.
