DESCRIPTION:Conductor and soloist: Olli Mustonen\, piano \nOlli Mustonen: Triptych for string orchestra\nCamille Saint-Saens: Piano Concerto no. 2 in G minor\, op. 22\nFelix Mendelssohn: Symphony no. 4 in A\, op. 90 “Italian” \nWe warmly welcome one of the most versatile\, iconic pianists in the world today\, in the triple role of soloist\, conductor and composer. Representing Mustonen the composer is the animated Triptych commissioned by the American physicist Sam Steppel. He will then prove his mettle as a pianist in the challenging Sant-Saëns concerto\, and the concert will end with Mendelssohn’s captivating\, Italy-inspired fourth symphony.
