Symphonie du Concert Municipal des Honorables Villes de Kotka et d’Helsinki
The Kymi Sinfonietta has begun collaborating with the highly-acclaimed Baroque Ensemble Nylandia. Founded by harpsichordist and keyboard player Matias Häkkinen, the Ensemble is adding some magnificent extra spice to our Baroque expertise by, among other things, bringing along some more unusual and authentic period instruments. Leading the concert is our own “Baroque guru” and concertmaster Raymond Cox, a man with a real passion for this musical genre. Audiences in Helsinki will also have a chance to savour this unique combination of period and symphony orchestra.
Two orchestral suites in the French style (Overtures, airs, gavottes, minuets, bourrées, chaconnes, etc.)
Works by François Francoeur, Jean-Philippe Rameau, Pierre Montan Berton, Antoine Dauvergne, Joseph-Nicolas-Pancrace Royer, Bernard de Bury and others.
Leader: Raymond Cox
