SUMMARY:AMONG THE LIVING – AN EVENING WITH MIKKO KUUSTONEN
DESCRIPTION:Jukka Perko\, saxophone & artistic lead\nMikko Kuustonen\, vocals\nVarre Vartiainen\, guitar \nContinuing in his role as Kymi Sinfonietta’s artistic partner\, Jukka Perko joins forces with his friend\, singer-songwriter Mikko Kuustonen\, to bring Kuustonen’s remarkable body of work to our audiences. At the same time\, Kuustonen fulfils a long-held dream of performing as a soloist with a larger orchestral ensemble. This unique evening will feature both familiar songs and new material. The longtime friends aim to create a spontaneous and unforgettable shared experience. The collaboration is also a tribute to Kuustonen’s diverse artistic journey as well as a bold step towards something new. “Fifty years have passed since I wrote my first song\, and I still experience the creation of every song as a miracle. When writing\, I am alone\, but on stage I become part of a magnificent collective and a flow that brings the songs to life.”

SUMMARY:BAROQUE HITS
DESCRIPTION:Director: Raymond Cox\, violin \nJean-Philippe Rameau: Music from the operas Les Indes galantes and Les Boréades\nJohann Sebastian Bach: Brandenburg Concerto No. 1 in F major\, BWV 1046\nJohann Sebastian Bach: Brandenburg Concerto No. 5 in D major\, BWV 1050\nJean-Philippe Rameau: Music from the operas Naïs and Zoroastre \nFollowing the tremendous success of last spring’s Baroque concert\, the orchestra returns with a programme bringing together some of the era’s most dazzling works – true musical gems. These masterpieces embody the splendour of Baroque instrumental music and rival even Antonio Vivaldi’s Four Seasons in popularity. Throughout the concert\, the concertos alternate with Rameau’s dance-infused operatic music – Baroque theatre music at its finest. This magnificent programme has been curated by Kymi Sinfonietta’s concertmaster\, Raymond Cox.
