At the heart of the evening are Bach\u2019s celebrated <em>Brandenburg Concertos<\/em>, represented here by the first and fifth concertos from the series. These masterpieces embody the splendour of Baroque instrumental music and rival even Antonio Vivaldi\u2019s <em>Four Seasons<\/em> in popularity. Throughout the concert, the concertos alternate with Rameau\u2019s dance-infused operatic music \u2013 Baroque theatre music at its finest.
