{"id":5667,"date":"2024-11-15T22:32:45","date_gmt":"2024-11-15T20:32:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kymisinfonietta.fi\/uutiset\/winners-of-the-v-international-uuno-klami-composition-competition\/"},"modified":"2024-11-15T22:42:12","modified_gmt":"2024-11-15T20:42:12","slug":"winners-of-the-v-international-uuno-klami-composition-competition","status":"publish","type":"uutiset","link":"https:\/\/kymisinfonietta.fi\/en\/news\/winners-of-the-v-international-uuno-klami-composition-competition\/","title":{"rendered":"WINNERS OF THE V INTERNATIONAL UUNO KLAMI  COMPOSITION COMPETITION"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The results of the V International Uuno Klami Composition Competition have now been announced and the prizes were awarded after the finals concert in Kotka on November 15.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">*************<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The jury consisting of Kalevi Aho (Chairman), Magnus Lindberg, Mats Larsson Gothe, Lotta Wenn\u00e4koski and Ernest Mart\u00ednez Izquierdo awarded the prizes as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I prize \u20ac 11 000: Matei Gheorghiu (Romania\/Finland) for From the Village of Nowhere (piano concerto)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">II prize \u20ac 9 000: Dawid Grenda (Poland) for you dream in a language i can\u2019t understand<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> III prize \u20ac 7 000: Roberto Sansuini (Italy) for FLOW (flute concerto)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> The prize of the City of Kotka worth \u20ac2 500 went to Jonathan Brigg (Great Britain) for Reflektor<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The prize of the City of Kouvola worth \u20ac1 000 went to Yves Balmer (France\/Switzerland) for Stiacciato<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The audience prize, the prize of the Municipality of Virolahti worth \u20ac 500 went to Matei Gheorghiu (Romania\/Finland) for From the Village of Nowhere (piano concerto)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">*************<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Entries for the competition were submitted by almost 230 composers representing 37 nationalities. The standard of the entries was so high that the jury decided to issue a list of 17 works definitely worth a performance in addition to the five selected for the finals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The five works chosen for the finals were performed by the Kymi Sinfonietta under conductor Ernest Mart\u00ednez Izquierdo at finals concerts held in Kouvola on November 14 and Kotka on November 15.
