This programme led by our concertmaster Raymond Cox focuses on timeless Classics that sound equally fresh from one century to the next. The Adagio & Fugue bring out the profound, more melancholy side of Mozart and demonstrate his command of counterpoint. The soloist in his Piano Concerto no. 20, heartrendingly beautiful and soaring into romantic heights, ranks among Finland’s internationally most highly-acclaimed pianists of all times, Antti Siirala.

Hanna Pakarinen, who represented Finland in 2007, and Mikael Saari, who twice excelled himself in the Finnish heats, lead us through Finland’s Eurovision Song Contest history from Laila Kinnunen (1961) to Blind Channel (2021). Along the way we will recall many hits and moments indelibly etched on the nation’s collective memory.
