Kymi Sinfonietta trumpeters Visa Haarala and Laura Vaittinen, together with vibraphonist Vladimir Belov, return to the atmosphere of their Heart of Rio concert from six years ago.

Continuing in his role as Kymi Sinfonietta’s artistic partner, Jukka Perko joins forces with his friend, singer-songwriter Mikko Kuustonen, to bring Kuustonen’s remarkable body of work to our audiences. At the same time, Kuustonen fulfils a long-held dream of performing as a soloist with a larger orchestral ensemble.

This time, we turn it up loud! Antti Rissanen leads Kymi Sinfonietta into the world of rock together with outstanding soloists Jarkko Ahola and Marika Hölttä.

Nathanaël Iselin begins his season as artistic partner of the orchestra in magnificent style with a programme celebrating Baltic Sea Day on 27 August. Curated by Iselin himself, this vibrant concert brings the rich musical heritage of the Baltic Sea region to life through dance rhythms, bird-inspired imagery and the mystique of northern nature.

The programme features Kuustonen’s best-loved songs alongside new material, all arranged in symphonic form.

Kymi Sinfonietta will perform at the Sibelius Music Festival in Loviisa for the first time this year. In keeping with the festival’s theme, the concert draws its colours from nature, especially from the forest.
