January 2024 marked the 100th anniversary of the birth of Finnish kantele player Martti Pokela. In honour of the centenary, three of his descendants wish to honour their grandfather’s musical legacy by combining forces in a trio with a larger orchestral line-up. Coupled with some moving arrangements of pieces by him are some new ones of the trio’s own. Martti’s original idiom and passionate love of music have brought the three Sariolas together and inspired this tribute to the past.
