A long-standing wish from our listeners comes true in this concert, which brings together two of the most beloved and frequently performed Baroque works – The Four Seasons and Water Music. Vivaldi’s Four Seasons is a true classic and arguably the world’s best-known violin concerto cycle: four seasons, four concertos, full of natural forces and reflections on the cycle of life. Händel’s radiant Water Music, rich in dance rhythms, was a major hit in its own time, and its magic remains undimmed. In this concert, we hear excerpts from all three of its suites. The programme is led by our own Baroque specialist, Raymond Cox.
