This concert conducted by our Artistic Partner Topi Lehtipuu takes us to the scene of many turning points in the history of music, Vienna – a city that still eternalises the age-old musical traditions even today, with its New Year concerts and carnivals.

Our Artistic Partner Jukka Perko leads the Kymi Sinfonietta in a concert of big band standards in zippy arrangements. As the icing on the cake, we also have a little Grieg and Tchaikovsky in the spirit of rhythm music. The five-star arrangements are by Artu Takalo, Sampo Kasurinen, Ville Vannemaa and Artturi Rönkä. As Perko puts it: “The concert will brilliantly highlight the Kymi Sinfonietta’s astounding ability to venture out of its safety zone into new surroundings.” A feel-good concert sure to go with a swing!

The message of Easter finds human and moving expression in the Resurrection oratorio by Handel. It was one of the finest works he composed during his Italian period, and tonight is a rare opportunity to hear it.
