We eagerly await the visit by our former Artistic Director Yasuo Shinozaki from Japan to guest conduct our orchestra. Both the Kymi Sinfonietta and our audiences occupy a very special place in his heart. With him he brings an impressive “Yasuo” programme chosen to bring out our profound understanding of music not only of the Classical and Romantic eras but also of the captivating Japanese sound world, complete with forest theme. With us as the soloist in Mendelssohn’s second piano concerto brimming with optimism is one of Finland’s most successful pianists, Henri Sigfridsson, who is also a piano professor at the acclaimed Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen. The concert ends with Mozart’s Haffner, a symphony bursting with life and energy.
